Why Every Homeowner Should Consider Aluminium Windows

Blog

If your residence's windows have timber framing, you may find that these frames have started to disintegrate as the years go by. The deterioration is usually caused by weathering and can manifest in various ways. Most commonly, timber frames will be affected by decay, causing the frame to feel spongy. You may also find that the frames have started to warp or crack. It is not advisable to ignore these structural damages, as the frames will gradually be losing their ability to keep your windowpanes securely in place. To prevent unfortunate accidents, you should consider switching to aluminium frames. Read on to find out why every homeowner should consider aluminium windows.

Enhanced thermal efficiency

One of the biggest benefits of aluminium windows is they provide your home with improved thermal efficiency. Aluminium is capable of resisting heat gain as well as heat loss when compared to other framing materials. As a result, your home is better able to retain comfortable temperatures without excessive reliance on artificial heating and cooling. Thus, investing in aluminium windows can provide you with significant energy savings down the road.

Convenient affordability

A misconception you may have about aluminium window frames is that they would be exceedingly expensive when compared to other window frames. In reality, aluminium is one of the cheaper alternatives that you could consider without compromising on the quality of window frames that you install. The reason why aluminium is affordable is that it is not expensive to manufacture. As such, you get to enjoy the benefits of its inherent durability, without having to worry about premature damage.

Flexibility in design

Another reason why homeowners should opt for aluminium windows is the flexible designs that these frames afford you. No matter what size or shape of windows that you have, the aluminium frames can be created to your individual specifications. Thus, you can be assured that the frames will fit into all window openings in your home. Secondly, aluminium frames come in an assortment of finishes. The vast range of finishes allows homeowners to choose frames that mimic other materials. For example, if you like the appearance of wrought iron but find that this metal is too expensive to use for your frames, you could opt for this type of finish. Moreover, the aluminium can be powder coated to any colour of your liking if you happen to be averse to having metallic looking frames.

How a Window Brings Joy

Hello, my name is Sandra. I live in Western Australia with my husband and our two kids. I wanted to start a new blog so I could talk about windows and the joy they can bring into a person's life. I didn't fully understand or appreciate windows until we moved into our current home. It is a large place with plenty of windows. When I first stepped through the front door, I thought I had died and gone to heaven. The light was amazing and the view made me want to cry. Having so many windows to look after has meant that I have had to learn a lot about maintaining them. I hope you enjoy my blog!
